The Opportunity: Senior WordPress/WooCommerce Expert
We are seeking a talented, senior-level developer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on WordPress and WooCommerce experience to join our team.
Essential Technical Skills & Expertise
- Custom Theme Development: Fluency in building custom WordPress themes by hand, without reliance on frameworks, boilerplates, or visual builders. Must ensure pixel-perfect matching of design mockups and adherence to best practices for SEO, accessibility, and responsive design.
- Core Web Technologies: Mastery of HTML, SCSS, and Javascript (including jQuery).
- Content Architecture: Expertise in structuring content using custom post types, reusable templates, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), including Flexible Content and nested Repeater fields. Experience with custom Gutenberg blocks is highly desirable.
- Custom Plugin Development: High competency in building custom plugins, ranging from simple WooCommerce shipping adjustments to complex ordering wizards or advanced API integrations.
- Backend Proficiency: Highly competent with PHP, MySQL, and REST APIs. Well-versed in utilizing WooCommerce hooks and filters.
- Preferred Technologies: Familiarity with React (especially for headless WordPress implementations) is preferred. Experience with Node/Gulp and Git are strong bonuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnosing and resolving issues in existing sites, including plugin conflicts, external service issues (e.g., taxes or fulfillment), and intermittent, hard-to-reproduce bugs. Implementing robust, future-proof solutions in complex environments.
- Communication: Clear and effective daily collaboration using Slack, Asana, Missive, and Zoom. Professional interface with clients is a definite plus.

Compensation and Benefits
