About the Role
We are building an enterprise-grade video conferencing platform using Cloudflare RealtimeKit. This platform supports over 100 simultaneous participants with a unique architecture featuring paginated video and universal audio, ensuring all participants are heard while video intelligently scales. This is a live, production system with active users and an ambitious roadmap. We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to take full technical ownership, make architectural decisions, and rapidly deliver high-quality features. This role requires immediate contribution; it is not a learning or ramp-up position. You should be ready to build, optimize, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
As the technical lead and primary owner of our real-time video conferencing platform, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy. You will balance development speed with production-quality engineering, collaborating closely with leadership on product roadmap and priorities.
What You'll Do
- Own the web-based video conferencing platform end-to-end.
- Lead development of native iOS and Android applications.
- Design, build, and rapidly ship new real-time features.
- Debug and resolve complex WebRTC and media pipeline issues.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability at scale.
- Make architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and media systems.
- Collaborate directly with leadership on product direction.
- Deliver under aggressive timelines without compromising quality.

Required Qualifications
WebRTC & Real-Time Communication
- 3+ years hands-on WebRTC experience.
- Deep understanding of SFU architectures.
- Proven experience supporting 50+ participant calls.
- Strong knowledge of TURN/STUN and NAT traversal.
- Experience managing audio/video tracks at scale.
- Experience handling poor network conditions and adaptive bitrate.
JavaScript & Web APIs
- 5+ years JavaScript experience (including vanilla JS).
- Deep experience with MediaDevices, MediaStream, and MediaStreamTrack.
- Strong experience with the Web Audio API.
- Advanced async and real-time debugging skills.
Mobile Development
- 3+ years mobile development experience.
- Published apps on both Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Hands-on mobile WebRTC experience.
- Experience with Swift/Kotlin or React Native/Flutter with native modules.
- Background audio and mobile lifecycle handling.
Backend & Systems
- Strong PHP experience.
- MySQL schema design and performance tuning.
- RESTful APIs for real-time systems.
- Redis and containerized workflows.
Cloudflare & Media Features
- Experience with Cloudflare RealtimeKit.
- Cloudflare Workers or edge compute.
- Virtual backgrounds, screen sharing with audio, and recording pipelines.
AI-Assisted Development (Required)
- Comfortable using Claude CLI or equivalent AI coding tools.
- Actively uses AI to accelerate development and debugging.
- High output without sacrificing code quality.
Nice-to-Have Experience (Selective)
- Ownership of production real-time video or collaboration platforms used by external customers.
- Direct responsibility for uptime, media quality, and incident response.
- Experience with simulcast, SVC, or bandwidth-aware media strategies.
- Practical understanding of audio processing (echo cancellation, noise suppression, leveling).
- Hands-on experience with media quality monitoring and observability.
- Server-side recording pipelines or real-time playback systems.
- Secure media access control and role-based permissions.
- Debugging cross-browser and cross-device WebRTC issues at scale.
- Supporting large live sessions or events beyond standard meetings.
