We are actively seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer who excels in backend-heavy fintech systems. This role involves building scalable, secure, and API-driven architectures, alongside providing essential front-end development support. If you are passionate about solving real-world financial logic problems, integrating diverse third-party services, and constructing structured systems within AWS, this opportunity is ideal for you.

What You'll Be Doing

Backend (Primary Focus)

• Design and build scalable backend services using PHP (Laravel).
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for both internal and external integrations.
• Implement complex business logic for:
  • Loan origination workflows
  • Offer presentation logic
  • Funding and settlement flows
  • Payments and money movement
  • Role-based permissions and application assignment
• Integrate with various third-party APIs, including lenders, payment processors, KYC providers, and credit bureaus.
• Design clean MySQL database architecture, write optimized queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, role-based access).
• Manage asynchronous processes, webhooks, queues, and background jobs.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for backend services.
• Refactor legacy code to enhance scalability and maintainability.
• Actively participate in architectural discussions and technical planning.

Frontend (Secondary Support)

• Support development efforts in React.js.
• Build and maintain API-connected UI components.
• Work within existing design systems and UI structures.
• Ensure proper state management and API consumption.
• Debug cross-stack issues spanning frontend and backend systems.

System & Infrastructure Responsibilities

• Work extensively within AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.).
• Understand deployment workflows and manage environment separation (development, staging, production).
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure adherence to performance, security, and monitoring standards.
• Support system scalability and uptime.

Fintech-Specific Responsibilities

• Build and maintain systems capable of handling:
  • Sensitive PII (SSNs, EINs, banking data)
  • Loan calculations and APR logic
  • Funding disbursement and reconciliation
  • ACH/card payment processing logic
  • Status-driven workflows (multi-stage application lifecycle)
• Ensure compliance-conscious development, focusing on data protection, auditability, and traceability.
• Work with structured underwriting and lender program logic.
• Support webhook-driven external lender responses and state updates.

What We Expect

• 6+ years of experience in backend development or full stack development.
• Strong experience with PHP, specifically the Laravel framework (required).
• Proficiency with React.js.
• Strong experience in MySQL database design and optimization.
• Experience working within AWS environments.
• Strong experience integrating external REST APIs (required).
• Mandatory experience in fintech, lending, payments, or other financial platforms.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Secure coding practices
  • Authentication and authorization models
  • API-driven architecture
  • Webhooks and asynchronous processing
• Ability to debug complex cross-system issues.
• Experience working in structured Jira-based sprint environments.
• Commitment to clean, maintainable coding standards.
• English B2+ minimum proficiency.

Nice to Have

• Experience with financial calculations (APR, amortization schedules, payment schedules).
• Experience with queue systems (Redis, SQS, etc.).
• Experience with GraphQL.
• Experience building role/permission matrices.
• Experience working with credit bureaus or KYC providers.
• Experience building audit logs and compliance reporting features.

Working Hours

This role requires alignment with U.S. Eastern Time to effectively support live production systems and real-time platform operations.

Standard schedule: 12 PM – 8/9 PM EST (Monday–Friday). This schedule ensures strong overlap with U.S.-based operations, product, and support workflows.
