We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack PHP Developer who’s fluent in both backend logic and front-end finesse — someone who loves solving complex problems, thrives in autonomy, and delivers polished, performant digital products.
Role Overview
You’ll lead the development of dynamic, scalable, and maintainable digital platforms — from custom WordPress builds to headless CMS implementations using React, Contentful, and Craft CMS. You’ll be part of a remote-first global team, collaborating closely with strategists, designers, and developers across Australia and Dubai.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and develop robust full-stack solutions across PHP, WordPress, React, and other modern frameworks.
- Implement and manage Headless CMS architectures (Contentful, Craft CMS, WordPress REST API, etc.).
- Integrate front-end frameworks like React JS and Angular with backend systems.
- Develop and maintain responsive, accessible interfaces using Tailwind CSS, HTML5, and JavaScript.
- Build and optimise e-commerce experiences (Shopify, WooCommerce).
- Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to translate creative ideas into scalable builds.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to mid/junior developers.
- Deliver assigned tasks independently — you’ll be solely accountable for what you build.
Requirements (Must-Have Skills)
- 7+ years of hands-on development experience in PHP (7.x/8.x) and OOP principles.
- Deep expertise in WordPress, including custom themes, plugins, ACF Pro, and performance optimisation.
- Strong proficiency with React JS, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, Tailwind CSS, HTML5, CSS3, and Ajax.
- Familiarity with Shopify customisation and integrations.
- Experience with CodeIgniter (or other MVC frameworks).
- Proficiency in modern toolchains: Visual Studio Code, Postman, XCode, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Headless CMS experience: integrating React, Contentful, Craft CMS, or Angular front-ends with API-driven back-ends.
- Strong debugging, optimisation, and security-first mindset.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication.
- Must be based in India and able to work during AEST hours.
- CV must highlight projects solely delivered — no shared credit without proof of ownership.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Laravel or Symfony.
- Familiarity with Next.js or Node.js for headless/SSR applications.
- API and microservice integration experience.
- Exposure to DevOps workflows, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Understanding of SEO, WCAG accessibility, and page performance best practices.
