Senior Full Stack Backend Engineer (PHP + React)

Responsibilities:

• Lead secure, scalable end-to-end feature development, owning the backend and shaping architecture.
• Drive architectural decisions for compliance with healthcare industry standards and system sustainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
• Contribute to technical roadmapping by evaluating feasibility and estimating timelines.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with humor and optimism.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Extensive experience with Symfony, including Doctrine ORM and key Symfony components.
• Advanced understanding and practical experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Awareness of security best practices for frontend and backend development, especially with sensitive healthcare data.
• Proficient in writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
• Solid understanding of React.js, with the ability to improve frontend as needed.
• Strong experience with MySQL, including design, optimization, and management.
• Experience with Docker for managing development environments.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Location: Remote - anywhere in the European Union (offices in Italy & Germany, no relocation support).
• Contract: Fixed-term contract of 1 year, with the aim of renewing to an indefinite term.
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday | 09:00 - 18:00 | 1-hour lunch break.
• Trial Period: Dependent on the country of residence.
