Thomann.io is advancing its digital presence in the expanding eCommerce landscape. We are seeking energetic individuals to join our Storefront team, focusing on user engagement and conversion to support our customers.

Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining customer-facing features and components across Content Management, Advertising, and Customer Relations. Our team also owns promotional product pages, marketing features, and SEO initiatives.

To expand our team, we are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer (f/x/m) proficient in React and other Frontend technologies.

We operate remotely and distributed, fostering collaboration. Whether fully remote within Germany or on-site in our Berlin & Erlangen offices, we work as a team, always customer-oriented and data-driven.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

We continuously improve customer satisfaction through landing pages, specialized tools for accessing our assortment, helpful content and guides, and easily reachable customer service contact points.

  • Drive pivotal projects from development to production launch, including international advertising expansion and landing page enhancements.
  • Implement and maintain new and existing Product features.
  • Conduct thorough automated unit and integration tests, supplemented with manual testing, to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Help propel the team forward by leading technical solution planning and ensuring project goals are met within expected timelines.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders and other engineering teams on business-critical projects and features.

What you should bring to the table

  • At least 5 years of current work experience as a Frontend Engineer working with React.
  • Experience with React Server Components is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of strict Typescript.
  • Fluency in Component testing using tools such as Vitest and Playwright.
  • Proficient with CSS3. Experience with Tailwind is advantageous.
  • Experience with Design Systems and Design System tools such as Storybook.
  • Understanding of semantic HTML and ARIA patterns for developing accessible user experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with PHP is a plus, but not required.

  • Shop-Frontend: React & Typescript on the client side, leveraging Tailwind for styling and design.
  • Shop-Backend: PHP 8.4, with full responsibility for our framework and adherence to established standards (e.g., PSR) during development.
  • We build and transpile everything our frontend needs using Webpack and Babel.
  • Docker and Openshift are utilized for our container infrastructure.
  • MySQL & Memcached provide reliable and fast data to our customers.
