Senior DevOps Engineer

As our Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the DevOps function, have the opportunity to build your ideal infrastructure, and be the go-to expert for all DevOps-related matters. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on our mission to transform the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Management: Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, high-availability infrastructure using Docker and Ansible.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and enforce best practices for IaC, configuration management, and security.
• CI/CD Automation: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD for seamless automated deployments.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices across infrastructure and applications, ensuring GDPR compliance and adherence to regulations.
• Task Automation: Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest and implement enhancements to systems, processes, and workflows.
• Architectural Collaboration: Participate in architectural discussions, offering insights from both development and DevOps perspectives.
• Development: Support your work with backend development (PHP).
• Database Management: Work with MySQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data migrations.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Infrastructure as a Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong understanding of AWS (or Azure or Google Cloud).
• Linux: Expertise in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
• Web Hosting: Strong experience configuring and managing Apache, Nginx, and HAProxy for web hosting and load balancing.
• Monitoring: Proficient in monitoring tools like Nagios, Icinga, and Grafana.
• Networking: Deep knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing) in secure, scalable environments.
• Security: Awareness of security best practices, especially when handling sensitive healthcare data.
• Performance Monitoring: Experience with New Relic for application performance monitoring and optimization.
• Ansible: Solid experience with using Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Development: Strong PHP development skills (preferably with Symfony or Laravel frameworks).
• Database Management: Strong experience with MySQL, including design, optimization, and management.

Administrative Info:

• Location: Remote - open to candidates anywhere in the European Union (no relocation support provided). Offices are in Italy & Germany.
• Contract: Fixed-term contract of 1 year, with the aim of renewal to an indefinite term.
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday | 09:00 - 18:00 | 1-hour lunch break.
• Salary Range: €50,000 - €65,000.
• Trial Period: Dependent on the country of residence.
• Start Date: Starting July/August 2025.
