Senior Custom WordPress Developer (Full-Width Layouts)

We’re looking for an experienced WordPress developer who wants to grow with our company long term, not just complete a one-off project. This role is for Web Samurais, a custom WordPress platform, not a basic marketing site. The work requires a strong understanding of true full-width, side-to-side layouts and clean, performance-focused development.

If your experience is primarily with boxed layouts or page builders, this role will not be a good fit.

About the Project

• Product-level WordPress platform
• Custom theme development (no templates no Site Builders)
• Client portal with subscriptions, billing, and support features
• Built with performance, scalability, and maintainability in mind

Responsibilities

• Build a fully custom WordPress theme from scratch
• Develop full-width, elastic layouts that adapt to all screen sizes
• Implement clean, maintainable PHP, CSS, and JavaScript
• Build client portal features (plans, billing, tickets, requests)
• Optimize performance (remove unused CSS/JS, caching, lazy loading)
• Follow clear scope, timeline, and quality standards
• Provide regular progress updates

Required Experience

• Strong experience with custom WordPress development
• Proven ability to build full-width / edge-to-edge layouts
• Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields)
• Solid understanding of responsive and elastic design
• Performance optimization experience
• Clean coding practices and structured architecture

Not a Fit If You Rely On

• Page builders (Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, etc.)
• Boxed or rigid layouts
• Bloated themes or excessive plugins
