Join Our Team as a Senior Backend Engineer!
Work remotely from Poland within one of our cross-functional teams (Motors, Real Estate, OLX Classifieds, or Platforms). Collaborate with a 1,000+ tech team, including engineers, SREs, and product teams, to build scalable, high-impact solutions. You will report to an Engineering Manager focused on supporting your growth.
We utilize Golang and Kotlin, actively modernizing systems by transitioning from legacy PHP to a microservices architecture, deploying via GitLab CI/CD to AWS. If you are passionate about solving technical challenges and scaling cloud systems, we encourage you to apply.
Who We Are Looking For
- A product-minded engineer who understands user perspective and the 'how' and 'why' behind technical solutions.
- Deep knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, best practices, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture for building and scaling cloud-based systems.
- Strong background experience in Golang, Java/Kotlin, or PHP (preferred backend technologies). Must be flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements and technologies.
- A problem solver capable of breaking down complex challenges into manageable solutions using analytical and creative thinking.
- An effective communicator who can explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear documentation of specifications and processes.
- A developer who embraces the "you build it, you run it, you own it" philosophy, prioritizing high-quality code, debugging, optimization, and automation.
- Solid experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Memcached).
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with large-scale web applications, an economic-thinking mindset, and the ability to design well-bounded domain systems.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Contribute to complex technical projects, delivering robust, secure, and scalable software solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative environment through task delegation, feedback, and team communication.
- Drive innovation, encourage new ideas, shape software development, and collaborate closely with product management to create user-centric solutions.
- Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions using GitLab CI/CD to AWS.
- Contribute to the broader Engineering strategy and cross-team collaboration through inter-team working groups or community guilds.
