About the Role

As a Senior Back-End Developer, you will be responsible for designing and building custom Magento 2 modules, leading complex system integrations, and ensuring seamless data exchange across ERP, PIM, POS, and various payment platforms. You will play a crucial role in enhancing backend performance, enforcing stringent coding standards, and fostering continuous improvement across the engineering team.

This position combines deep technical execution with mentorship and strategic input. You will contribute to architectural decisions, conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior developers, and elevate engineering best practices.

AI integration is a core requirement for this role. The team expects developers to actively leverage AI for code generation, workflow optimization, prompt engineering, automation, logging integrations, chatbot development, and prototyping. Candidates who do not integrate AI into their development process will not be suitable for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Web Application Development and Integration

• Design and implement custom Magento 2 modules to address complex business challenges.
• Build and maintain robust integrations with ERP systems, PIM platforms, payment gateways, and other third-party services.
• Enhance and evolve the internal core framework to ensure efficient system interoperability.
• Troubleshoot integration issues and maintain high system reliability.
• Write clean, modular, and reusable code for scalability and long-term maintainability.

Magento Module Development

• Develop and optimize Magento modules for superior performance and compatibility.
• Integrate Magento with POS, ERP, and external service platforms.
• Perform thorough testing and debugging across various environments.
• Document architecture, specifications, and integration processes comprehensively.

Solution Testing and Quality Assurance

• Execute comprehensive test plans across Linux, Windows, and mobile environments.
• Conduct performance testing to ensure scalability and effective load handling.
• Identify and resolve bugs and inconsistencies efficiently.
• Optimize database queries and system configurations for enhanced stability.

Collaboration and Technical Leadership

• Partner with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce Magento best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and support their skill development.
• Contribute to documentation and shared technical knowledge.

Innovation and Process Improvement

• Proactively introduce new tools and workflow enhancements.
• Stay current with industry trends in Magento, Adobe Commerce, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven development.
• Implement AI workflows, prompt engineering strategies, automation tools, and chatbot prototypes within the development lifecycle.

What You Bring

Experience and Background

• Minimum of 5 years of backend development experience, with a strong focus on Magento 2 or Adobe Commerce.
• Proven experience integrating external systems and APIs in production environments.
• Experience working effectively within collaborative engineering teams.

Technical Expertise

• Advanced proficiency in PHP 7 and 8, coupled with strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Deep knowledge of Magento 2 backend architecture, including dependency injection, plugins, events and observers, and service contracts.
• Strong experience with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in MySQL, AJAX, XML, and HTML.
• Strong GIT version control skills.
• Adobe Commerce Professional certification preferred; certification must be obtained within six months if not currently certified.

Nice to Have

• Linux system administration experience.
• SOAP and REST web services integration.
• Unit, integration, and functional testing experience.
• AWS deployment and infrastructure management.
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Docker and containerization experience.

• Active use of AI tools in development workflows.
• Experience building AI-driven automation, prompt engineering for code, or chatbot prototypes.
• Familiarity with logging and tooling integrations enhanced by AI.
• Demonstrated experimentation or production use of AI-assisted development practices.
