The Role: Senior PHP Software Engineer (Xodo Sign)
Apryse is seeking a talented Senior PHP Software Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining our eSign solution, Xodo Sign, by creating innovative new features and managing the existing codebase. As a key software engineer, you will contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle and influence future projects and company direction. We prioritize adopting new technology and techniques, requiring a strong commitment to continuous learning. Alignment with our global team requires working Eastern Time hours.
Responsibilities:
- Work within the Scrum product development team to implement new features and enhance existing functionality of the Xodo Sign platform.
- Engage in the full development lifecycle: requirements gathering, analysis, high-level design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Conduct technical research, preparing proposals and demonstrations for new projects and product enhancements.
- Perform rigorous code reviews to ensure high code quality, consistency, and adherence to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate closely with fellow engineers, providing support, facilitating knowledge sharing, and solving complex problems.
- Champion and promote engineering best practices across the team to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience and strong proficiency in modern PHP, MySQL, and REST APIs.
- Proven experience securing, benchmarking, optimizing, and scaling high-availability applications.
- Solid experience utilizing AWS Cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS).
- Proficiency in Docker.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and processes (e.g., Scrum).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience with the Symfony framework is an asset.
- A degree in computer science or computer/software engineering is a plus.
