The Challenge: Scaling Home Services Sales in Brazilian E-commerce
You will join the team responsible for designing, scaling, and evolving solutions that connect products, people, and deliveries. Our mission is clear: reduce friction, delight our customers, and optimize large-scale operations. This role requires sharp technical and strategic insight—we seek someone who understands the business, questions the status quo, and deeply considers how technology can propel MadeiraMadeira to the next level.
As a Systems Specialist II, your mission is to technically lead the construction of distributed, scalable, and resilient systems, ensuring intelligence and efficiency throughout the entire customer journey. You will technically influence the entire squad and, alongside the Engineering Manager, be responsible for creating technical standards and definitions propagated across the squad.
You will work in a squad with direct business visibility, contributing to decisions that daily impact thousands of orders and customers. More than just developing, we expect you to inspire, collaborate, and actively contribute to the technical evolution of the team and the area. ️
Work Model: Hybrid (Curitiba/PR or São Paulo/SP) or Remote (other regions of Brazil).
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical guardian of solutions developed by the squad.
- Create technical standards and assist the team in expanding technical knowledge.
- Develop and maintain microservices and APIs, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.
- Design and implement distributed architectures, applying best practices such as Clean Architecture, DDD, TDD, and efficient use of messaging and containers.
- Ensure high availability and resilience of critical systems through robust monitoring and observability practices.
- Collaborate deeply with product, data, and other squads, understanding business challenges before proposing technical solutions.
- Mentor team members, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Organize deliveries with a strong sense of priority and impact, always focusing on customer experience.
- Actively participate in technical decisions within the Home Services ecosystem, demonstrating autonomy and leadership.
Required Technical Skills (Hard Skills)
- Mastery of back-end development using Node.js and/or Python (knowledge of Java and PHP is desirable).
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
- Practical experience with containers (Docker, Docker Compose), Git, and pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.).
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (New Relic, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Strong foundation in software engineering: Clean Architecture, DDD, TDD, BDD, Design Patterns, performance, and security best practices.
