The Role: Senior Backend Developer Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems using Python and Django REST Framework.
• Manage complex integrations across payments, ecommerce, logistics, and automation.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and define the technical roadmap.
• Ensure high engineering quality through robust testing and TDD practices.
• Mentor team members and influence product direction.
• Develop AI infrastructure from the ground up.

What We’re Looking For: Senior Backend Developer Qualifications

Technical Background:

• 5+ years of backend development experience (senior or lead level).
• Proficiency in Python and Django REST Framework (or similar frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Phoenix, Laravel).
• Strong commitment to testing, ideally with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, AWS, and security best practices.
• Ability to handle occasional frontend tasks while maintaining a backend focus.
• Solid grasp of system design and scalability principles.

Product & Business Acumen:

• Genuine curiosity about user experience.
• Skill in translating design specifications into engineering tasks.
• Interest in understanding the strategic 'why' behind product decisions.

AI Interest:

• Interest in leveraging AI for productivity (e.g., code generation, automation).
• Enthusiasm for building AI features and infrastructure from scratch.
• Curiosity about new AI capabilities.

Communication Skills:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Spanish is a plus.
• Pragmatic problem-solver, balancing development speed with quality.
• Collaborative team player with mentoring experience.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience in fintech, payments, or ecommerce sectors.
