Job Description
This role involves supporting the sales team by providing business and technical expertise on payment acceptance processes and associated products and services for Visa Acceptance Solutions product pillars. These include Digital Accept, In-person Accept, Payment Processing, Transaction Management & Optimization, Fraud Management, Risk Management, and Post Transaction Management.
The scope of this position covers working and servicing the European region, specifically Central Eastern Europe, to support new and existing customers in understanding the technical requirements for single or multiple product solutions across the Visa Acceptance Platform, including but not limited to: Payment Acceptance, Payment Security, and Fraud & Risk Services.
Principle Responsibilities
- Develop in-depth knowledge of Visa Acceptance Solutions products through research and testing, functioning as a subject matter expert for prospective customers via self-enabled learning, technical testing, and investigative exercises. Support will be provided by senior Value-Added Services team members and your line manager.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date product and services knowledge through global team knowledge sharing and collaborative work with product teams across Visa Acceptance Solutions, utilizing self-enabled learning, technical testing, and investigative exercises. Support will be provided by senior Value-Added Services team members and your line manager.
- Provide technical pre-sales support by accompanying the European sales team to meetings with prospective and existing customers. This includes delivering presentations, providing product demonstrations, and conducting whiteboard sessions, all while maintaining a sales-oriented approach to solutioning customer requirements through discovery phase exercises, adapting to challenging situations with product, services, and industry knowledge to deliver technical excellence.
- Deliver customer-focused technical consultancy engagements to agree on solution design and technically validate that proposed solutions can be implemented and will meet customer requirements.
- Support the handover to Implementation Specialists to ensure efficient implementation.
- Engage, support, and collaborate with prospective clients across various verticals: Retail, Travel, Digital, Financial, Government, and Gaming.
- Provide proposal support to the European sales team for technical sections of RFI and RFP documents.
- Write and develop small internal computer applications to provide proof-of-concept ideas, evaluate Visa Acceptance Solutions products, and troubleshoot customer issues through applied knowledge and experience, via self-enablement.
- Provide training on Visa Acceptance Solutions products and services to customers, either classroom-based or as train-the-trainer sessions. Produce clear and precise documentation for customers based on business and functional requirements to support successful solution implementation.
- Ability to work independently on customer sites with minimal supervision across the European region.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in the Payment Acceptance industry with specific emphasis on product pillars such as Digital Accept, In-person Accept, Payment Processing, Transaction Management & Optimization, Fraud Management, Risk Management, or Post Transaction Management, or a similar technology/service delivery industry.
- Demonstrable experience working as a Sales Engineer in a technical and commercial environment.
- Experience providing ongoing support to Partner and Merchant customers over prolonged periods.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration between technical, commercial, service delivery, and support teams.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of intermediary level programming & scripting skills (JavaScript, Java, PHP, C++/.NET, HTML, etc.) for effective implementation of CyberSource products & services.
- Demonstrable experience communicating technical concepts clearly and articulately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong track record in high customer focus and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Fully fluent in mainstream software applications for writing, presentation, and data management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Science, Engineering, or Computing, or equivalent.
- Demonstrable years of dedicated pre-sales, service delivery, or consultancy experience for multi-national and global engagements.
- Experience in technical programming for implementing web service environments across hosted service platforms.
- Ability to speak a second European language is preferred.
