The Position: Technical Product Marketing Manager
FastSpring is seeking a Technical Product Marketing Manager to join our Product Marketing Team. Given that flexibility is central to our platform design, we require a technical storyteller who can effectively demonstrate how FastSpring’s platform and services support even the most unique edge cases.
We power payments for digital product companies globally, including Software companies, Game Publishers, and Mobile App developers. In this unique hybrid role, you will tailor our technical narrative to resonate specifically with personas within these key verticals.
This role is ideal for a marketer who loves code or a developer who loves marketing, splitting focus between two critical areas:
- Core Product Marketing: Acting as the strategic bridge between Product, Sales, and Marketing for assigned projects.
- Developer Relations: Executing our developer relations program, creating technical content, and building examples demonstrating FastSpring application across various use cases.
We seek a candidate equally comfortable writing a high-level value proposition slide as they are connecting FastSpring APIs with a backend system.
Responsibilities
Strategic Product Marketing
- Coordinate product launch messaging and releases, ensuring all Go-To-Market (GTM) teams (Sales, Success, Support) are fully enabled with appropriate messaging and materials.
- Translate technical capabilities derived from product documentation (e.g., PRDs) into clear, benefit-driven narratives that resonate with SaaS, Gaming, and Mobile App audiences.
- Create essential sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, one-pagers, and battlecards, to help GTM teams navigate technical discussions confidently.
- Comfortably present and conduct training in large forums, including all-company meetings.
- Track competitor development updates and developer trends to ensure FastSpring maintains a competitive market position.
Developer Relations
- Utilize coding skills (HTML/CSS/JS) to build Proof-of-Concept (POC) examples demonstrating how FastSpring's systems support unique use cases (e.g., a gaming web store or SaaS checkout flow).
- Execute the strategy for FastSpring's Developer Relations program, ensuring a consistent stream of content and resources that empower the FastSpring developer community.
- Write technical documentation and developer-centric content, including API tutorials, integration guides, and technical blog posts.
Required Experience
- 3-5+ years of Product Marketing experience at B2B SaaS companies or related marketing experience.
- Strong background in B2B SaaS, specifically in launching products and enabling GTM teams.
- Previous experience in developer relations, or prior professional experience as a developer.
- Ability to read and write code for demonstration purposes. Proficiency in Front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JS) is required.
- Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and backend concepts (Node.js, Python, or PHP knowledge is a strong plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with development frameworks or engines like React, React Native, Unity, or Unreal.
- Experience using project management tools like Asana.
- Experience working with eCommerce, Merchant of Record, or other payment service providers.
- Familiarity with tools like GitHub, Postman, or similar developer ecosystem tools.
- Marketing training or product marketing certification is a plus.
