Experienced WordPress Developer (Full-Time Remote Contract)

We are seeking an experienced WordPress developer to join a fully remote team on a full-time contract basis. You will be responsible for crafting fast, accessible, and maintainable custom WordPress sites utilizing bespoke themes and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).

This role involves collaboration with a designer, operations lead, managing director, and fellow developers, with occasional direct communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Write efficient, accessible, and mobile-first HTML, SCSS/CSS, and JavaScript.
• Maintain and enhance existing websites.
• Take part in client calls when necessary.
• Build custom WordPress themes using ACF and clean PHP.
• Work with the wider team to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
• Optimize site performance, security, and SEO.

Skills

• Proven track record in WordPress bespoke theme and plugin development.
• Expert proficiency in ACF, PHP (7+), HTML5, SCSS/CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Familiarity with WP-CLI, REST API, and headless WordPress setups.
• Solid understanding of performance optimization, accessibility standards, and security best practices.
• Comfortable using Git and managing staging and production servers.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Clear communicator, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Agile workflows and tools such as Jira or Trello.

Contract Details

• Fully remote engagement.

Pay: £27,000.00–£37,000.00 per year
