Remote Software Developer (Symfony, OroPlatform, Next.js, TypeScript)
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Remote Software Developer specializing in Symfony (specifically OroPlatform) and modern frontend technologies like TypeScript and Next.js. This role involves comprehensive backend and frontend development for complex enterprise applications. Candidates must be proficient in production environments utilizing PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and Elasticsearch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Symfony and OroPlatform.
- Customize OroPlatform functionality and workflows.
- Develop and optimize user interfaces utilizing TypeScript and Next.js.
- Manage integrations and asynchronous processing systems using RabbitMQ.
- Design efficient data structures and queries with PostgreSQL.
- Implement and maintain full-text search and filtering features using Elasticsearch.
- Collaborate effectively with backend and frontend developers, DevOps, QA, and product teams.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
Required Skills & Experience:
Backend Expertise:
- 3+ years of experience with Symfony and PHP (OroPlatform experience is required).
- In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL (including schema design, performance tuning, and indexing).
- Solid hands-on experience with RabbitMQ (managing queues, consumers, retries, etc.).
- Practical experience with Elasticsearch (indexing strategies, querying, and mapping).
Frontend Expertise:
- Proficient in TypeScript and React-based frameworks, especially Next.js.
- Experience building SSR applications and utilizing modern frontend tooling.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and modern CSS libraries.
General Requirements:
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a remote setup.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have:
- Additional experience with OroPlatform.
- Knowledge of Docker and cloud deployment (e.g., GCP).
- Contributions to open source Symfony/Oro bundles or relevant projects.
