The Role:
This position involves supporting the enhancement and rollout of platform improvements utilized across multiple client environments. You will contribute to streamlining upgrade processes and collaborate closely with internal technical teams responsible for infrastructure and operations, leveraging PHP to support and enhance functionality.
This is a client-focused role, requiring excellent communication skills. This unique opportunity allows you to work on a significant, organization-wide initiative and develop your skills within a dynamic team.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and document automation tooling to streamline PHP module upgrades across various client environments.
- Collaborate with the Cloud Operations team to execute upgrade processes, troubleshoot issues, and refine tooling based on operational feedback.
- Perform manual upgrades when automation is not feasible.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure system stability and functionality throughout the upgrade process.
- Support upgrade planning activities, including environment assessment, dependency analysis, and effort estimation.
Skills and Experience you will need:
- Strong knowledge of PHP Frameworks (e.g., Laravel) and Object-Orientated Programming (OOP) principles is essential.
- Expert knowledge of PHP 7.x to PHP 8.x, specifically PHP 8.3.
- Proven experience planning and upgrading production systems to PHP 8.x.
- Knowledge of Unit Testing frameworks (e.g., PHP Unit and Jest).
- Experience with GIT workflow.
- Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, JSON).
- Self-motivated and organized, enjoying the challenge of meeting tight deadlines in a project-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
Skills and Experience that are an advantage:
- Strong knowledge of building serverless applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) components like Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.
- AWS certification (Practitioner level or above).
