Remote Part-Time Level 1 IT technician

Microtronix ESolutions is a full-service IT Solutions firm in Ottoville, Ohio. We work with customers on everything from their IT and infrastructure, to web and mobile software development of custom solutions for their businesses. Microtronix also works directly operating our own in-house datacenter and web systems servers for our customers.

To help fulfill the demand for our services we are seeking a part-time IT technician, to work with our customers in and around Ohio and Indiana. This position is a part-time remote position. Technician needs to be available Mon. - Fri., 9am to 5pm to answer calls and email support for customers, though unless specifically working on Microtronix work technician is not required to be active during that time, so they could easily be working on other things outside of Microtronix.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the IT field working on PC's and Mac's, with Windows and MacOS.

Requirements for the job

• Previous experience in IT working and repairing computers
• Experience with Windows 7, 8.1, 10, 11 a must
• Experience diagnosing hardware and software problems
• Ability to work regular business hours
• Located in one of three states only; Ohio, Indiana, Michigan
• Ability to learn on own using research to gather information on new problems that may arise
• Customer service experience and ability to work with customers to find solutions to problems is a must
• Ability to learn about new technology and learn new ways of doing things, including programming and web development. This is a learning position, the ideal candidate will be teachable and be able to thrive with new technology and learning new techniques.

Bonus experience but not required for the job

Any of the below things the candidate has experience in will be a plus, but not required. Whatever the selected candidate does not know of these things when they start they will be taught.

• Experience with Linux
• Experience with MacOS
• Experience with Windows server and Active domain
• Experience with VMWare, XEN, OpenVZ and other Hyper-Visors
• Diagnosing networking issues and connectivity issues
• Configuring routers, switches, and servers
• Web Software development in PHP, NodeJS, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• App development in Android SDK, C#, Phonegap, Ionic, or Nativescript
• Experience in networking and datacenters

Compensation is according to experience and will be decided upon hiring the candidate.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
