Remote Part-Time Level 1 IT Technician

Microtronix ESolutions, an IT Solutions firm based in Ottoville, Ohio, offers comprehensive IT services. We specialize in IT infrastructure, web development, and mobile software development for custom business solutions. Additionally, Microtronix operates its own in-house datacenter and web systems servers for clients.

We are seeking a part-time IT Technician to support our customers in Ohio and Indiana. This is a part-time remote position. The IT Technician must be available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, to respond to customer calls and email support. While availability is required, active work on Microtronix tasks is only needed when specifically assigned, allowing for flexibility.

The ideal candidate will possess prior IT experience with both PCs and Macs, including expertise in Windows and MacOS environments.

Requirements for the Job

• Previous IT experience in computer working and repair
• Proficiency with Windows 7, 8.1, 10, 11 is essential
• Experience diagnosing hardware and software problems
• Ability to work regular business hours
• Must be located in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan
• Ability to self-learn and research solutions for new technical issues
• Customer service experience and problem-solving skills with clients are a must
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies, including programming and web development. This is a learning-focused role for a teachable candidate who thrives with new technology.

Bonus Experience (Not Required)

Experience in any of the following areas is a plus, but not mandatory. Training will be provided for selected candidates on these topics if they lack prior experience.

• Linux
• MacOS
• Windows server and Active Directory
• VMWare, XEN, OpenVZ, and other Hyper-Visors
• Diagnosing networking and connectivity issues
• Configuring routers, switches, and servers
• Web Software development (PHP, NodeJS, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• App development (Android SDK, C#, Phonegap, Ionic, or Nativescript)
• Networking and datacenters

Compensation will be determined based on experience upon hiring.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
