This ongoing contract involves building multiple browser-based mini-games over several months. The successful candidate will integrate these games into an existing PHP application, utilizing UserSpice for secure authentication and user tracking. This role requires an independent developer capable of rapid iteration and delivering polished, recurring mini-games.
Responsibilities
- Develop HTML5 mini-games using Phaser.js (v3).
- Implement core game logic, including scoring, rounds, timers, feedback mechanisms, and end states.
- Manage and ensure the reuse of game assets (images, sprites, buttons).
- Integrate developed games into PHP pages secured by UserSpice authentication.
- Transmit game results to backend PHP scripts using fetch / AJAX calls.
- Ensure all game data is accurately associated with authenticated users.
- Deliver multiple high-quality games throughout the contract duration.
- Collaborate remotely to refine gameplay mechanics and project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, specifically focused on game development.
- Proven experience building HTML5 games using Phaser.js or comparable frameworks.
- Solid understanding of HTML5 Canvas and browser-based rendering techniques.
- Experience calling backend APIs using fetch / AJAX.
- Working knowledge of PHP.
- Experience with UserSpice or similar PHP authentication systems.
- Basic experience with MySQL / SQL databases.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS (Bootstrap experience is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing educational, training, or assessment-style games.
- Ability to create reusable game templates for efficiency.
- Prior experience working successfully in a remote contract role.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
