The Quality Assurance Tester ensures the quality, reliability, and usability of internal software applications. This role involves designing and maintaining automated and manual testing, managing realistic test data, collaborating with Development and Product teams throughout the software lifecycle, and acting as the final quality gate before release.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test coverage, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing, for Angular frontends and Symfony/PHP APIs.
  • Maintain and extend the frontend unit test suite in Vitest, ensuring comprehensive coverage as features and codebase evolve.
  • Create and maintain Foundry factories and realistic test data for development examples and stable automated testing.
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing to identify quality and usability issues requiring human judgment.
  • Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including authoring clear, non-technical test scripts and scenarios for Product and stakeholder review.
  • Triage, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps; verify fixes and prevent regressions.
  • Collaborate with Development and Product teams early to review specifications, identify edge cases, and integrate quality from the outset.
  • Utilize AI tools to accelerate test case creation, exploratory test design, test data generation, and script authoring, ensuring independent validation of all outputs.
  • Contribute to defining and maintaining quality standards, test coverage expectations, and release-readiness criteria for a growing application portfolio.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant fields include computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, accounting, finance, and economics.
  • Strong ability to understand and analyze complex relational data models, including schemas, relationships, foreign keys, and valid data states.
  • Demonstrated curiosity in business operations and the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar domains by asking effective questions and understanding expected outcomes.
  • Proficiency in reading TypeScript and PHP to understand application behavior and validate test code and AI-generated outputs.
  • Solid understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.
  • Strong judgment in evaluating test quality, identifying tests that lack meaningful validation of expected behavior.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and adaptable to ambiguity, changing requirements, and frequent releases while maintaining quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, effectively translating between technical teams and business users.
  • Comfortable using AI tools for generating test cases, test data, and scripts, or demonstrating aptitude and interest in integrating AI into the testing process.
  • Preferred experience with Vitest, Playwright, Angular Testing Library, Foundry or similar factory/seeding tools, relational data analysis, systems/ERP implementation, professional services, accounting, or advisory environments.
