Introduction

We are seeking a full-time QA – WordPress Plugin Tester to join WPMU DEV. This role involves testing challenging, interesting, and innovative new features and products.

We require a minimum of 4 working hours of availability between 1:00 AM and 10:00 AM UTC to ensure effective overlap with our core team. Outside this window, you have the flexibility to complete the remainder of your daily hours at any time that suits your schedule.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide beta testing for all plugin and service releases. This includes:

  • User testing
  • Functionality tests
  • Regression tests
  • Compatibility tests against different versions of WordPress and PHP, as well as popular third-party plugins
  • Performance measurement
  • Reporting issues and monitoring their resolution
  • Producing screenshots or video to illustrate how to reproduce an issue

Qualifications

Essential attributes and experience required:

You must be highly familiar with WordPress, possess experience in testing WordPress plugins and theme frameworks, and have sufficient knowledge of MySQL and Git. A strong understanding of black-box testing, white-box testing, regression testing, unit testing, user testing, automated testing, and manual testing is essential. You should also have adequate knowledge of CSS, PHP, and JavaScript to pinpoint potential sources/triggers of bugs/issues and document detailed, reproducible steps.

Hiring Process

Our hiring process includes the task mentioned above and an interview with our management team, which will include a second task. Candidates who successfully pass the interview stage will be offered a paid trial of 4-6 weeks before being considered for a more permanent role.
