Presales Engineer (French Speaker) - Twilio Communications EMEA

Join the Twilio Communications EMEA team as a Presales Engineer. This role requires both high technical proficiency and skilled executive relationship building. You will be comfortable demonstrating engaging communications experiences to a CEO or sketching out technical flows with decision-makers. You are crucial in securing the technical win and demonstrating product fit for customers across the EMEA region, building trust in Twilio’s Customer Engagement Platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Twilio New Business Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, Professional Services, and Partners to strategize for deal success throughout the pre-sales process.
  • Develop strong business partnerships with Account Executives, focusing on effective business discovery and communicating the value proposition of Twilio solutions.
  • Actively participate in all phases of the sales cycle, including qualification, discovery, demonstrations, Proof-of-Concept (PoC), RFP response, design documentation, technical presentations, and enablement sessions.
  • Become a subject matter expert on customer needs, requirements, and Twilio’s best-in-class communications technology.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to uncover customer challenges and articulate how Twilio enables their success.
  • Create and deliver powerful, complex presentations and product demonstrations showcasing Twilio Communications Product capabilities.
  • Analyze customer business problems, identify opportunities, and propose creative new solutions and architectures that inspire innovation.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with high-level customer stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the wider Twilio Solutions Engineer community by sharing knowledge, building demo assets, and creating reusable presentations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical pre-sales role within the CPaaS, SaaS, or Telecom space.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with the sales cycle and the specific function of a pre-sales engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of voice protocols (VoIP), SIP implementations, or messaging APIs.
  • Proven creativity and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity for successful collaboration.
  • An engaging storyteller capable of communicating complex technical topics effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences at multiple levels.
  • Ability to conduct deep discovery to understand customer needs and guide them toward technical solutions using Twilio Communications products.
  • Knowledge of public cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architectures.
  • Experience writing code in one or more of the following backend languages (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, or PHP) or web technologies (JS, React). Experience in multiple areas is advantageous.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Fluent French speaker.

Desired Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with backend development (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Mobile development, specifically for iOS and Android.
  • Previous technical experience in Telecommunications, SIP, WebRTC, or Contact Centre environments.
  • Experience with automation, cloud-native development, and skills utilizing a major cloud platform.
  • Experience with sales methodologies.

Location and Travel

This is a remote role based in the UK.

Approximately 35% travel is anticipated to facilitate in-person connection and relationship building with customers and team members.
