PHP Developer – Backend/Web Development | 100% Remote (m/f/d)

Your role at CollideX

Do you want to develop backend and web applications that are actually in use – at government agencies, ministries, and specialized companies? And do you want to do that without just processing tickets from a backlog, but instead helping decide how things are built?

We are a small development team. Specifically, that means: short paths, no approval loops across three levels, and your work is visible in the product. But it also means that you complete topics independently – from technical conceptualization to deployment. If you prefer to work in a clearly defined specialized area, we are probably not a match.

You develop services, APIs, and web features based on our modular platform CCE and take responsibility for your own projects and product areas.

Your tasks

• Development and further development of backend services, web APIs, and PHP-based applications
• Technical concept design, API design, and integration of existing REST interfaces
• Refactoring grown codebases – architecture, stability, performance
• Implementation of customer requirements, including direct technical coordination
• Code reviews and knowledge transfer in the team
• Independent work with GitLab and CI/CD based on Docker
• Working with AI support (Claude Code) in the IDE of your choice

What you should bring

• Several years of experience in software development with PHP
• Very good understanding of modern software architecture, backend design, and API development
• Experience with Git/GitLab and iterative development
• Confident handling of modern development environments – preferably PhpStorm, also gladly VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or others
• Openness to AI-assisted development
• Independent, solution-oriented way of working and willingness to think beyond your own area
• Very good written and spoken German skills (C1+)
• Completed vocational training, degree, or comparable professional experience
