PHP Developer - Remote

Kelsius, a leader in automation technology for product safety and compliance in the food service and healthcare industries, is seeking a PHP Developer to join its R&D team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in IoT and a rapidly growing industry. This is a remote role, with occasional visits to our head office in Gweedore/Falcarragh, Co. Donegal. Candidates must reside in Ireland and have the right to work in Ireland.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop new software features and maintain existing applications (client-facing and internal web-based) using core PHP.
• Design, implement, test, and document software in an Agile environment.
• Participate in technology adoption and software architecture decisions.
• Liaise with the Project Manager and support team members through daily stand-ups and code reviews.
• Adhere to and ensure team compliance with company software management policies.
• Identify new technologies to improve cloud applications and APIs.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of vanilla PHP and custom architecture (no full-stack frameworks used).
• Good experience with PHP and MySQL (3+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in using PHP frameworks and libraries.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies like JavaScript frameworks.
• Familiarity with jQuery is required.
• Demonstrate initiative, be a self-starter, and show a willingness to learn.
• Strong Object-Oriented skills and proven problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player.
• Some experience using Git.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment and meet deadlines.
