PHP Chief Architect: Remote Software Development Leadership

We are seeking a passionate Chief Architect to spearhead product advancement and ensure the delivery of highly valuable, safe, and secure software solutions to our customers. This role is crucial within our Platform Development team. You will define technical and architectural specifications, establish and maintain code review guidelines, and develop complex requirements and prototypes. You will mentor platform developers, providing feedback aligned with Sparkrock product standards, and serve as the product technical expert across all Sparkrock departments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate technical designs to ensure adherence to product standards.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and platforms for product integration.
• Define technical and coding standards for the platform.
• Define and actively participate in code reviews.
• Code complex solutions and prototypes.
• Define and manage the product release process.
• Document application architecture comprehensively.
• Deliver deep dives to resolve complex technical problems.
• Develop and execute ITDs (Implementation Technical Designs).
• Mentor and educate development team members.
• Interact with cross-functional teams as the platform technical expert.

Requirements

• Diploma in Computer Science or a relevant technical field.
• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience in major programming languages.
• 6+ years' experience in PHP Development (must).
• 5+ years' experience building full-stack solutions.
• Hands-on experience implementing unit and integration tests in both backend and frontend environments.
• Proven track record of effective interaction with senior management.
• Proven track record of creating and managing strong product-driven standards.
• Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
• Quality mindset and detail-oriented approach.

Nice to have

• DevOps experience.
• Experience with ERP product development.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technology-related field.
• Previous experience in Remote jobs.
