The Mission: What You Will Solve

We're not looking for someone to maintain the status quo; we're looking for a self-starter.

Your primary mission will be to independently deliver reliable AI-enabled features, automations, and integrations across our core business platforms. You will use AI development tools to accelerate delivery while applying strong engineering judgment to validate code, data, system behavior, and business outcomes.

Working closely with the Development Team Lead, Project Manager, and senior developers, you will own well-defined features from implementation through testing, documentation, deployment support, and post-release monitoring while developing the skills needed to take on broader system-design responsibilities.

• AI-enabled features, integrations, and automations are delivered reliably, securely, and within agreed timelines.
• One production-ready AI-enabled feature is independently delivered within the first 90 days, including testing, evaluation, documentation, deployment support, and monitoring.
• AI-generated code and model outputs are consistently validated for correctness, security, maintainability, performance, and alignment with business requirements.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Years of Experience: 3–5 years of professional software development experience.

Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Must-haves:

• Fluency with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or an equivalent platform.
• Ability to explain, validate, and defend all aspects of AI-assisted implementations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Laravel, SQL/MySQL, and Eloquent query structures.
• Experience delivering an LLM-powered feature, automation, agent, or internal tool.
• Strong programming fundamentals, including modular design, control flow, data structures, error handling, and readable code.
• Solid debugging, testing, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication, version control, and system integrations.
• Ability to independently deliver well-defined technical outcomes while collaborating effectively on cross-system initiatives.

The ideal candidate can hit the ground running with a high degree of autonomy in these critical areas:

• Disciplined AI-Assisted Development: Proven ability to use AI coding tools for solution design, code generation, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation while critically validating all output before release.
• LLM Feature and Agent Development: Ability to build AI-powered features, automations, and agents using prompt templates, structured outputs, tool or function calling, validation rules, fallbacks, and appropriate human-review steps.
• Laravel and Data-Driven Engineering: Confident ability to build and maintain reliable applications using Laravel, PHP, SQL/MySQL, Eloquent, modular design, error handling, and secure development practices.
• Platform Integration and Automation: Experience building dependable integrations using REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication, logging, retries, reconciliation, and careful handling of partial failures.
• Testing, Evaluation and Root-Cause Analysis: Ability to create test cases and lightweight evaluations, identify model and application failure modes, investigate issues systematically, and improve solutions based on production evidence.
