Linux Administrator (Ops) Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to join our Ops team. This team operates at the crucial intersection of infrastructure and software development, providing essential support for applications built using PHP and Go.
The Ops team ensures the stability, security, and reliability of our production infrastructure and services. Responsibilities span virtual machines, databases, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, automation, and internal platform services including Thanos, Prometheus, Grafana, Ceph, and profiling systems.
Our robust infrastructure comprises over 2,000 virtual machines and 500 physical servers, managed by a dedicated team of experienced engineers.
We embrace Scrum, Agile methodologies, and a data-driven approach, utilizing two-week sprints with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
This is a full-time remote position offering flexible start times, anytime before 12:00 pm EET/EEST.

This role offers more than routine server maintenance or isolated infrastructure tasks. You will be an integral part of the team managing the production environment for products serving millions of users.
You will collaborate directly with development teams, providing expert troubleshooting for infrastructure issues and ensuring the reliable operation of their services in production.
This position is ideal for an engineer passionate about troubleshooting, automation, and enhancing infrastructure reliability and scalability, moving beyond basic server upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Linux servers (Ubuntu) in both development and production environments.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases and Greenplum clusters, focusing on performance and reliability troubleshooting.
- Provide administration and support for KeyDB, ClickHouse, and Kafka.
- Configure and maintain critical infrastructure services like Nginx, Jenkins, GitLab CI, DataHub, Allure, and Airflow.
- Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using Ansible, alongside scripting in Python, Bash, and other languages.
- Operate within Docker and Kubernetes environments, including application deployments via Helm.
- Monitor production systems, resolve incidents, and continuously improve system performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins.
- Work with OpenStack and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Support development teams with infrastructure-related challenges and their working environments.
- Collaborate with the Infrastructure team on troubleshooting and coordinating infrastructure changes, including new hardware provisioning.
- Contribute to robust security practices and PCI DSS compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience administering Linux servers in production.
- Strong practical knowledge of Linux internals, networking, system services, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience administering PostgreSQL and/or Greenplum databases.
- Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience utilizing Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Solid scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitLab CI and/or Jenkins.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and system profiling tools, particularly Prometheus and Grafana.
- Fluent Russian (C2 or higher) for team communication.
- English B1+ for technical documentation and written communication.
Desirable Qualifications
- DBA experience, including hands-on administration of databases and data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Patroni.
- Experience supporting high-load or distributed production systems.
- Knowledge of AWS and OpenStack cloud platforms.
- Experience with PCI DSS compliance.
- Ability to read and/or write code in PHP/Go.
- Experience with Chef.
- Background in fintech or trading environments.
