We are currently seeking a Lead WordPress Developer with deep expertise in WordPress architecture and a strong track record in client-facing delivery. This role requires a balance of hands-on technical leadership and clear communication, as you will be responsible for architecting, building, and optimizing high-performing WordPress sites while collaborating closely with internal teams and partners. As a Lead WordPress Developer, your focus will be on scalable theme and plugin development, site performance and security, integrations with third-party platforms, and maintaining best practices across code quality and deployment.

  • Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins
  • Optimize website performance and scalability
  • Leads projects to migrate non-WordPress Sites to WordPress
  • Troubleshoot and resolve WordPress-related issues
  • Collaborate with designers and content teams for seamless UI/UX implementation
  • Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends and technologies
  • Evaluate and test software to ensure that the software works according to specifications and requirements
  • Actively participate in the Scrum call for effort estimation and prioritization

What You Offer

Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field OR relevant work experience

Experience

  • 6+ years experience
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and MS SQL.
  • Experience with custom theme and plugin development.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with REST APIs, Timber, Advanced Custom Fields Pro
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimization
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops as well as Git, deployment processes, and security best practices
