Lead Developer - PHP & C#

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development of backend systems and actively shape their future architecture.
• Analyze existing system landscapes, identify technological potential, and design scalable, sustainable solution architectures.
• Design and implement robust backend components and APIs using PHP/Symfony and C#/.NET.
• Make informed architectural and technology decisions with the team, ensuring consistent implementation.
• Guide the migration of on-premise solutions to modern cloud architectures, developing strategies for system modernization.
• Establish and enhance technical standards for code quality, testing, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive technical feedback, and support colleagues with complex development tasks.
• Analyze complex bugs, performance, and stability issues, developing sustainable solutions.
• Promote the use of Generative AI for code generation, refactoring, test cases, documentation, and quality assurance.
• Mentor and coach developers, actively contributing to team growth.
• Optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL databases for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to ensure technical decisions deliver customer value.

What We Expect From You

• Completed degree or training in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in complex backend system development and a technical leadership role (e.g., Lead Developer, Tech Lead, Software Architect).
• Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x and Symfony 7.x+, including RESTful API development.
• And/Or strong proficiency in C# and .NET 8+, ideally with Entity Framework Core experience.
• Profound experience in software architecture, design patterns, clean code, and legacy application modernization.
• Experience with unit and integration tests (PHPUnit, PHPStan/xUnit, Roslyn) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, with an understanding of modern, scalable cloud architectures.
• Extensive experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including performance optimization.
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and Message Brokers (ideally RabbitMQ).
• Experience with modern AI tools in software development and an understanding of their value.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly in English and German.
• Ability to take responsibility, make decisions, and integrate diverse technical perspectives.
