Lead Developer - PHP & C#

Your Responsibilities

• You will take technical leadership in the further development of our backend systems and actively shape their future architecture.
• You will analyze our existing system landscape, identify technological potential, and develop scalable, sustainable solution architectures from it.
• You will design and implement robust backend components and APIs with PHP/Symfony and C#/.NET.
• Together with the team, you will make well-founded architectural and technological decisions and ensure that these are consistently implemented in development.
• You will accompany the migration of on-premise solutions to modern cloud architectures and develop strategies for a gradual modernization of our systems.
• You will establish and improve technical standards for code quality, testing, performance, security, and maintainability.
• You will conduct code reviews, provide constructive technical feedback, and support your colleagues with challenging development tasks.
• You will analyze complex bugs, performance, and stability problems and develop sustainable solutions instead of short-term workarounds.
• You will promote the targeted use of Generative AI for code generation, refactoring, test cases, documentation, and quality assurance.
• You will technically support and coach developers and actively contribute to the team's development.
• You will optimize our MySQL and PostgreSQL databases with regard to performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• You will work closely with product management and other stakeholders and ensure that technical decisions create clear added value for our customers.

What We Expect From You

• Completed degree or training in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in developing complex backend systems and experience in a technically leading role, e.g., as Lead Developer, Tech Lead, or Software Architect.
• Very good knowledge of PHP 8.x and Symfony 7.x+ as well as in the development of RESTful APIs.
• And/Or very good knowledge of C# and .NET 8+ and ideally experience with Entity Framework Core.
• Profound experience in software architecture, design patterns, clean code, and modernization of legacy applications.
• Experience with unit and integration tests, especially PHPUnit and PHPStan/xUnit and Roslyn, as well as with CI/CD pipelines.
• Good knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes and an understanding of modern, scalable Cloud Architectures.
• Profound experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL including performance optimization.
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and message brokers, ideally RabbitMQ.
• Experience with modern AI tools in the software development process and a good sense of where their use creates real added value.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical contexts understandably – in German and English.
