Lead AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI systems that support multiple products and internal use cases
• Translate product goals into executable technical plans and help shape team strategy
• Implement and integrate AI solutions, including LLM-based systems, RAG pipelines, agents, and orchestration layers
• Develop capabilities for structured data extraction, content classification, and content generation aligned with organizational ontologies
• Contribute to a shared AI platform to improve reuse, maintainability, and developer experience
• Optimize AI systems for cost-efficiency, scalability, performance, and operational reliability
• Stay current on AI/ML advances and evaluate emerging tools and technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams through planning and delivery to refine requirements and approaches
• Communicate technical tradeoffs, constraints, and risks clearly to stakeholders
• Own projects end-to-end while balancing speed, quality, and long-term sustainability

Requirements

• Proven background with 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Strong command of Go or other modern backend languages such as Python, PHP, Java, or Scala
• Hands-on experience of 1+ years building and deploying AI/ML systems in production environments
• Practical experience with modern GenAI ecosystems including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face, plus frameworks like LangChain
• Deep understanding of implementing NLP tasks using LLMs, including text classification, named entity recognition, extraction, and summarization
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with familiarity with MLOps workflows
• Solid experience with vector databases, inference engines, and data persistence layers
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured and semi-structured data
• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate) level or higher

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience developing internal services or systems utilized across teams
• Background working with large-scale taxonomies or ontologies for classification, tagging, or content generation
• Experience with structured output handling, including JSON mode, schema validation, and output parsing
