Senior Laravel / PHP E-commerce Developer
We are seeking an experienced Laravel/PHP Developer to support and enhance business-critical e-commerce platforms, including incentRev and Wise Brother. Both applications share a common development stack and require strong backend development expertise, e-commerce experience, and payment processing integrations.
The ideal candidate has deep proficiency in Laravel within a LAMP environment and hands-on experience building and supporting e-commerce applications, particularly checkout, payment, and order-processing workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain e-commerce applications using PHP, Laravel, and the LAMP stack.
- Build and enhance product catalog, shopping cart, checkout, payment, and order-management functionality.
- Integrate, maintain, and troubleshoot payment gateway APIs, including BASYS and other payment processors.
- Develop RESTful APIs and integrations with third-party platforms such as shipping, CRM, ERP, and analytics services.
- Optimize MySQL queries, caching strategies, application request lifecycles, and overall system performance.
- Support Linux-based application environments and improve deployment and operational reliability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, particularly those involving checkout and payment transactions.
- Apply secure coding practices and support PCI and data-protection requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional project teams in an Agile environment.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to high-quality, reliable releases.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of professional LAMP application development experience.
- Strong PHP and Laravel development experience.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining e-commerce applications.
- Hands-on experience integrating payment gateway or payment-processing APIs. BASYS experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce transaction flows, including shopping carts, checkout, payments, and orders.
- Strong MySQL database design, query optimization, and performance-tuning skills.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and at least one modern frontend framework or library such as Vue.js, React, or Alpine.js.
- Experience working with Linux server environments.
- Experience with Git-based development workflows; Azure DevOps experience is preferred.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, PCI considerations, and protection of payment and customer data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BASYS payment gateway integrations.
- Experience with Redis and application caching.
- Experience developing or scaling high-traffic e-commerce applications.
- Familiarity with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with analytics, A/B testing, or personalization platforms.
- Familiarity with AI-powered functionality within e-commerce applications.
