Junior Technical Product Manager - Position Summary
The Product Management team at TransPerfect proactively manages the development lifecycle of our applications, from gathering requirements to production release, collaborating across various teams.
Junior Product Managers work within the Technology group, serving as the primary point of contact for Client Solutions Teams, Internal Solutions Teams, and other internal groups. This role involves collaboration with leading technology minds on the world’s leading translation automation platform.
Position Responsibilities
- Support the entire product line life cycle, from strategic planning through release.
- Take an active approach during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Quality Assurance (QA) cycles for new product versions.
- Support tracking delivery schedules, ensuring proper quality assurance, and managing changes in work scope.
- Engage stakeholders for necessary inputs and manage communications, expectations, and dependencies.
- Participate in UI/UX design.
- Perform UAT and Quality Assurance of a product’s REST API, validating feature specification implementation and identifying gaps and bugs.
- Author and review Documentation updates.
- Analyze reported issues, new features, and improvement requests from stakeholders, communicating them accurately and effectively to developers, writing formal specifications when necessary.
- Provide support to colleagues from other teams, including Client Solutions Teams, Internal Solutions Teams, Technology Sales, and Technology Services.
- Self-train to better understand internal and third-party technologies.
- Perform other special tasks deemed appropriate for this role as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
- Fluency in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving skills, especially in troubleshooting web applications, and strong analytical skills.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience effectively working with external and internal clients to gather and organize user requirements, user stories, and use cases.
- Good knowledge of all aspects of the software product development lifecycle, including 1 year of software product management experience in a corporate environment.
- Work experience in software development using Java and scripting languages.
- Technical background with experience in any of the following: Java, REST APIs, JSON/XML, PHP, or PERL.
- Resourceful with the drive to learn and improve skills.
- Proactive, self-starter attitude with desire to own projects with limited supervision.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of a second language.
- Computer Science or Engineering degree.
- Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Testrail, or similar systems.
- Knowledge of localization Computer Aided Translation tools and Translation Memory Tools.
- Experience using regular expression, Xpath, and other parsing techniques.
- Familiarity with microservices.
