Junior Software Developer – Web & Mobile Application/ 3 days ago

Application ends: 2026-09-09

Quick Summary

Cafe Natalie Catering is seeking a part-time, fully remote Junior Software Developer at $18.00 per hour to support and maintain the KEWW workforce management mobile and web platforms. Working alongside a lead developer, responsibilities include troubleshooting software bugs, testing updates, providing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript front-end support, and assisting with PHP and WordPress customizations. Requirements include foundational HTML, CSS, and JavaScript knowledge, debugging skills, and strong problem-solving abilities, with preference for candidates located in the Greater Houston area.

About KEWW & the Opportunity

KEWW is a newly developed workforce management platform designed to simplify how hospitality and event businesses connect with workers, manage staffing, schedule shifts, communicate with teams, and support day-to-day workforce operations.

As we continue to launch and develop the KEWW platform, we are looking for a motivated and solutions-oriented Junior Software Developer to help support, maintain, and improve our mobile application and related web platforms.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly with a newly developed, live software product as it continues to grow. You will work alongside an experienced developer and collaborate with our internal team to identify bugs, troubleshoot technical issues, test updates, support existing features, and assist with future platform improvements.

Rather than working only on isolated development projects, you will gain exposure to the ongoing lifecycle of a real SaaS product—from identifying user issues and testing fixes to improving functionality and supporting new features.

This is a part-time, fully remote position, with preference given to candidates located in the Greater Houston area.

What You'll Work On

Your primary focus will be supporting the continued development and performance of the KEWW mobile and web platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with identifying, investigating, and resolving software bugs
  • Support and maintain the KEWW mobile application for iOS and Android
  • Test bug fixes, software updates, and new or improved features
  • Help troubleshoot issues reported by users and internal team members
  • Assist with website updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Support front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Assist with PHP and WordPress customization as needed
  • Help troubleshoot APIs, integrations, and application functionality
  • Document reported issues, testing results, fixes, and completed updates
  • Collaborate with the lead developer and internal team on technical projects
  • Communicate progress, questions, and potential roadblocks clearly
  • Contribute ideas for improving platform functionality and the overall user experience

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with software development, debugging, and testing
  • Basic understanding of web development principles
  • Interest or experience in mobile application development and support
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable collaborating in a remote work environment
  • A degree or educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant professional experience, internships, certifications, coding bootcamps, freelance development, personal projects, and portfolio work will also be considered.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

  • WordPress
  • PHP
  • React or Vue
  • iOS and/or Android application development
  • APIs and system integrations
  • Git or GitHub
  • Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg
  • Figma
  • Trello or Asana

You are not expected to know every technology listed. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, curiosity, good problem-solving instincts, and the willingness to continue learning.

Why Join KEWW?

Because KEWW is a newly developed platform, this role offers the opportunity to become involved during an important stage of the product's growth.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work directly with a live SaaS and workforce management platform
  • Gain hands-on experience supporting web and mobile applications
  • See how users interact with the product in real-world business environments
  • Troubleshoot real technical and user experience challenges
  • Participate in testing and improving existing features
  • Contribute ideas for future platform improvements
  • Work alongside an experienced developer
  • Expand your responsibilities as the platform and your technical skills grow

For a junior developer looking to move beyond practice projects and gain experience supporting an evolving technology product, this position provides meaningful exposure to both the technical and operational sides of software development.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit:

  • An updated résumé
  • General weekly availability
  • Expected hourly rate
  • GitHub profile, portfolio, website, or examples of previous development work, if available

If you're an early-career developer who wants to work on a growing technology platform, solve real technical problems, and contribute to the continued development of a live mobile and web application, we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
