Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Developer to join our team, focusing on building and maintaining our government-focused ERP solution. This full-time, permanent, remote role is ideal for a recent university graduate eager to gain hands-on experience with enterprise-level software, utilizing both legacy and cutting-edge Microsoft technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop responsive web user interfaces using PHP, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for accessing ERP data.
- Create and maintain PHP backend applications.
- Implement data binding and user interaction logic to connect front-end forms with backend services.
- Collaborate with senior developers to achieve product outcomes.
- Perform unit testing and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Debug and troubleshoot application issues across the full stack.
- Document code, technical processes, and user interface specifications.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and daily standups.
- Assist in deployment activities and version control management using Git.
- Stay current with web ecosystem updates and best practices for web development.
- Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and problem-solving.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required).
- Solid understanding of PHP and object-oriented programming principles.
- Familiarity with SQL query writing and relational databases.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of data modelling, relational database concepts, and normalized data structures.
- Knowledge of Accounting, Payroll, and Billing concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering and working with agentic AI coding assistants.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical requirements and debug AI-generated code.
- Skills in iterative prompt refinement to achieve desired coding outcomes.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an online assessment.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
