You will build, maintain, and enhance ecommerce stores, focusing on front-end development to ensure visually appealing, user-friendly, and performance-optimized websites. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the development team to translate business requirements into functional Shopify websites.
- Design and develop visually appealing and user-friendly ecommerce websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develop bespoke Shopify themes and templates using Liquid to meet client specifications and branding guidelines.
- Implement responsive design techniques for optimal performance across various devices and screen sizes.
- Conduct thorough developer-led testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in ecommerce and Shopify development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, marketers, and directors, for successful project delivery.
- Assist in maintaining and updating existing Shopify websites, including content updates and bug fixes.
Required Skills & Traits
- Solid understanding of web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with the Shopify platform and its templating language, Liquid.
- Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries such as Tailwind CSS.
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate technical concepts.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and stay updated with emerging technologies.
Preferred (but not required) Traits
- Degree (or near graduation) in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience with UX/UI design principles and tools.
- Knowledge of server-side programming languages (e.g., PHP, Ruby, NodeJS).
- Understanding of ecommerce concepts and online marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with developing on other platforms, including WordPress.
- Experience with React.
- Experience with Front End Build tools such as Vite.
