Description

Seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer with foundational JavaScript and PHP skills. This role supports the daily maintenance of energy-related dashboards, Open Data API, websites, and data update procedures. The candidate will manage daily deliverables, requiring a consistent 7:00 am start time. Reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Key responsibilities include developing a deep understanding of data sets, data relationships, and business rules, as well as translating client work requests into actionable technical requirements. The developer will actively participate in the successful delivery of information dissemination products, such as dashboards, for the Office of Information Technology at a leading government agency.

Requirements

Must Have

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field
  • 2-4 years of experience in client-server or distributed architecture environments, specifically in MS or web-based applications development
  • Proficient experience in moving and integrating datasets between multiple databases on different servers and between multiple database tables
  • 2-4 years of experience developing web-based applications using HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and PHP
  • Working knowledge of Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows® Server
  • Experience as a Front-end Software Developer with a focus on designing interactive web applications
  • Experience with web operations management, including web application deployment, monitoring, error isolation, escalation, and problem resolution
  • Experience with Git and GitFlow, or a proficient understanding of version control tools and branching models
  • Some knowledge and experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) and build/deploy automation
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications

Nice to Have

  • Proficient understanding and experience with advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS
  • Proficient knowledge of PHP web frameworks like Slim and dependency management tools such as Composer
  • Familiarity with Highcharts or similar alternatives
  • Familiarity with SQL query construction (e.g., database scripts, views, stored procedures)
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS

U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
