This Role

As an Intermediate Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and deploying impactful product features that improve the daily experiences of business owners and employees. Your work will span both frontend and backend components of our Employment Operating System, from AI-powered hiring tools to automated payroll and HR platforms, directly contributing to our mission of simplifying and enriching employment for everyone. You will join a high-performing, remote-first Product & Engineering squad, collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineers worldwide to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.

Who You Are

You are expected to embody The EH Way, demonstrating focus, agility, and a strong commitment to impact. For this position, you will also bring:

• Over 5 years of experience in Software Development, with a focus on Server-side and RESTful API Development and integration.
• Proficiency in languages such as TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Java, PHP, etc., is highly desirable. You should be willing to learn Ruby upon joining our team.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing, maintaining, and deploying full-stack web technologies.
• Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology.
• A collaborative team player who prioritizes colleagues and exhibits a highly adaptable and versatile approach to work.
• Passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing, with the confidence to challenge peers and openness to being challenged.
• Experience mentoring teammates or leading an Engineering squad.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for global collaboration, including with colleagues in Australia.
• Openness to expanding expertise into Frontend technologies and developing into a FullStack Engineer role, with our full support.
