As Head of IT, you will be the leader of the Base Courier development team - responsible for the architecture, quality, and development of the platform. This is a role combining oversight of the platform department with leading the development team. You set technical standards, make key architectural decisions, and directly influence the reliability and scalability of the platform.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Technical leadership of the development team - setting standards, best practices, and the direction of technological development.
- Designing system architecture and making key technological decisions based on business needs.
- Supervision of development work, and if necessary, readiness for hands-on work.
- Defining and maintaining the technical roadmap in cooperation with the product team and the business.
- Ensuring code quality, platform performance, and scalability (testing, CI/CD, technical debt reduction).
- Mentoring and developer development - supporting skill enhancement and building an engineering culture.
- Supervising the security, reliability, and business continuity of implemented solutions.
- Participation in integration and implementation projects across the entire Base group.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of software development experience, including min. 2 years of experience as a software development team leader.
- Very good knowledge of the tech stack: PHP (Symfony, Doctrine) and MySQL/AWS Aurora databases, along with experience working on AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS) on Linux with Docker containerization and CI/CD in GitHub Actions.
- Experience in designing system architecture operating at scale (cloud environment, APIs, integrations with external systems).
- Knowledge of good engineering practices - code review, CI/CD, automated testing, versioning.
- Knowledge of application security issues and technical risk management.
- Ability to communicate both with the technical team and business departments - easily translating technological solutions into business value.
- English language proficiency enabling work in an international team.
