In its role as an innovation driver, IT develops solutions to utilize the opportunities of digitalization in the interest of the city's society. IT operates the central IT infrastructure of the city administration and supports departments and municipal enterprises in all IT matters.

These are your tasks

  • Leadership of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance unit in functional and personnel terms with 10 employees
  • Establishing general standards and the direction of the IT architecture, structuring the architecture levels and the IT strategy for the Nuremberg City Group under a holistic approach
  • Creating and updating a service management roadmap
  • Creating and updating the interaction of business processes and IT services in the city of Nuremberg, creating a strategic, conceptual, and organizational framework for the design of IT services and the IT service portfolio
  • Validation and continuous review of the provision of IT services to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, with special consideration of public sector procurement
  • Creating, developing, and updating IT governance, policies, and standards for the use of IT in the city administration

This is your profile

For this role, you require:

  • A completed relevant scientific university degree (Diploma [Univ.], Master, Magister) in Computer Science/Business Informatics, E-Government, Business Administration, or
  • Other qualifications with comprehensive relevant skills and experience and at least three years of relevant professional experience, or
  • Civil service qualification for the fourth qualification level of the Administration and Finance career path with equivalent skills and experience, or the Natural Sciences and Technology career path, focusing on Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computer Science

In each case with at least five years of professional and leadership experience (disciplinary or within project management) in a comparable position.

In addition, you possess:

  • Comprehensive and deep knowledge as well as many years of experience in information technology, particularly technical infrastructures, process modeling (BPML tools), and technical and organizational process workflows (ITIL)
  • Strategic and conceptual networked thinking beyond the existing IT structures of the city of Nuremberg
  • Experience in leading and motivating employees against the backdrop of digital transformation and the resulting requirements
  • Management competence and solution-oriented behavior
  • Experience in project management and controlling as well as in leading agile teams
  • High resilience and commitment (if applicable, on-call duty and weekend work), sense of responsibility, goal-oriented negotiation skills, teamwork skills, high communication competence, and very good oral and written communication skills
