Fullstack Developer (Remote)
At WayOps, we are looking for a Fullstack Engineer who wants to continue growing professionally by participating in a project within a demanding environment in the pharmaceutical sector, with a solid technical foundation in backend development (PHP/Laravel or Python/FastAPI) and decoupled architectures, capable of designing modern interfaces and aligning development with the company's Artificial Intelligence solutions.
PROJECT & TEAM
You will be part of strategic corporate application development initiatives for one of our main international clients in the pharmaceutical sector. The project focuses on maintaining and evolving the digital business ecosystem, integrating intelligent workflows based on Artificial Intelligence and process automation to shorten delivery times.
You will integrate into a high-level technical team, collaborating closely with data engineering, Web Development, and DevOps profiles, under the coordination of a Solution Architect to ensure strict alignment with the company's technology stack. The work dynamic is highly collaborative, with a focus on technical excellence, gathering business requirements alongside the transformation team, and documented design decisions (ADR).
Your role will be key to the evolution of interfaces and the robustness of the backend, providing a cross-cutting end-to-end architecture vision. You will contribute to consolidating integration solutions with enterprise systems and automation, ensuring that the delivered software meets the highest standards of quality, observability, and performance.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
In your day-to-day, you will be the reference point for application development and architecture, actively participating in tasks such as:
- End-to-end web application development and evolutionary maintenance
- Integration of corporate systems (SAP, ERPs, data platforms, and external APIs)
- Design and implementation of AI-assisted workflows, orchestration, and automation systems
- Definition and design of REST APIs and robust contracts between systems and microservices
- Gathering requirements with business teams in collaboration with the transformation area
- Technical documentation of design and software architecture decisions (ADR)
- Software quality assurance through automated testing, security, and complete observability
Although you will have the support of the Solution Architect, you are expected to demonstrate technical leadership without the need for a formal hierarchy, providing autonomy in resolving complex blockers and proactivity in proposing improvements to the architecture.
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
For your profile to be considered, it will be necessary for you to have a solid track record as a senior developer with an architectural mindset and experience in complex business environments.
Essential skills and knowledge include:
- Advanced experience in backend development using PHP (Laravel) or Python (FastAPI), or equivalent frameworks
- Mastery of frontend development with JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks (Next.js, React, or Vue)
- Experience in REST API design and microservices or decoupled architectures
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (advanced SQL)
- Regular use of Git, automated testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
- Informal technical leadership capacity and a mindset oriented towards solving business problems
Additionally, the following will be positively valued:
- Previous experience in agentic development or automation assisted by LLMs and orchestration of intelligent workflows
- Integration of corporate systems such as SAP or other enterprise ERPs
- Experience with queue technologies, asynchronous jobs, and event-driven architectures
- Advanced use of AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, or similar)
- Knowledge of observability strategies, monitoring, and a DevOps mindset
- Accustomed to working with agile methodologies in corporate environments
CONTRACT & LOCATION
The collaboration will preferably be in the form of an independent contractor (freelance), with annual contracts and tacit renewal, within a long-term project designed to offer stability and continuity. For profiles with a special technical or cultural fit, employment as a salaried employee with an indefinite contract will be considered.
The position will be full-time (40 hours/week). The project is executed mostly in a remote modality, requiring only in-person attendance one day a month at the client's offices located in Madrid for in-person alignment and team design dynamics.
