Fullstack Software Engineer | Laravel | Remote Contractor (Brazil)

We are a professional services firm focused on software engineering and cloud solutions, including Technical Consulting, Programming & Quality Assurance, DevOps, Applications, UX, Product Management, and Project Management.

This is a fully remote contractor position. Candidates must reside in Brazil and be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST). Compensation will be provided in Brazilian Reais (R$).

The Fullstack Software Engineer role requires experience building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications. You will join a talented team working on mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

Planning

• Adapt to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
• Make independent decisions and communicate them effectively.
• Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with PMs, supervisors, and clients.
• Provide accurate estimates based on requirements, wireframes, and designs.

Development

• Own project success by proactively communicating risks, known issues, and changelogs.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Ensure code conforms to best practices.
• Appreciate the value of well-tested code.
• Perform peer code reviews.
• Create projects that are free of major defects.
• Maintain a positive and respectful tone in all interactions.
• Handle both Backend and Frontend tasks according to demand.

Expertise

• Research new libraries, techniques, and ideas.
• Interested in publishing blog posts demonstrating technical expertise.
• Enhance the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

• Advanced to fluent English communication skills are essential.
• 4+ years of experience with Laravel.
• Familiarity with relational database concepts.
• Familiarity with Postman for making API calls.
• Experience with or knowledge of the following technologies:
  • REST API development and deployment.
  • JSON modeling and usage.
  • Querying and modeling using a relational data store.
  • Using package managers such as composer.
  • Using Git for source control.
  • Familiarity with other PHP Stacks.
  • Scripting experience with PHP, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Experience with web accelerators, load balancers, reverse proxies, and CDNs.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certifications or willingness to get certified.
• Interest in Generative AI technologies.
