  • Proactively debug and improve legacy systems, monitoring and optimizing performance, caching, and security, while systematically resolving debug log backlogs.
  • Actively engage with frontend and backend members of the Digital Marketing team and other internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, scope projects, and provide clear technical updates.
  • Manage a high-volume project and task load, comfortably switching between multiple internal projects daily while maintaining high standards for speed and code quality.
  • Advance our engineering culture by contributing to reusable tools and process improvements, documenting code, and participating in knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience engineering large-scale, enterprise WordPress websites.
  • Experience developing custom WordPress plugins and themes.
  • Advanced PHP expertise.
  • Comfortable working within a WordPress multi-site environment, including localized and multi-lingual sites.
  • Experience with both the classic WordPress editor and the modern block editor.
  • Working knowledge of Git for version control (branching, merging, and code reviews).
  • Strong QA mindset, with experience designing systems for site updates that include thorough testing and quality assurance.
  • Working knowledge of complex MySQL database structures, including importing/exporting data and optimizing database queries.
  • Experience interacting with RESTful APIs and data formats (JSON, XML).
  • Experience with WordPress site migrations.
  • Self-management skills to operate independently in a fully remote role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with various caching systems and content-delivery networks.
