Our core mission is life transformation. Let’s go HIGHER!

Role Overview: Senior Full Stack AI Product Engineer

We seek a Senior Full Stack AI Product Engineer. The ideal candidate is strongest on the frontend (Vue 3 + TypeScript), possesses solid backend skills, and is highly comfortable integrating AI into the core workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own critical user journeys end-to-end (e.g., challenge joining, exchange signup, paywalls, UID submission, community access).
  • Ship features rapidly within a small team, collaborating directly with the founding team.
  • Utilize AI tools as a force multiplier for development efficiency.
  • Work closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to ensure shipped features are simple, measurable, and stable.

Rough split: ~70% frontend, ~30% backend and integrations.

What You'll Do

  • Build Challenge and Exchange Flows: Implement challenge onboarding, exchange sign-ups, and community gates using Vue 3 and TypeScript. Develop reusable, composable components handling all validation, error, and loading states.
  • Raise Engineering Standards and AI Usage: Maintain a clean, understandable codebase. Utilize AI tools daily for scaffolding and refactors. Contribute to developing simple standards for PR practices and error handling.
  • Backend Integration: Integrate with existing Laravel APIs and services via Inertia.js to manage authentication, security, and data storage for reporting and finance partners.
  • Third-Party Integration and Defensive Coding: Build robust, defensive integrations with partner exchanges (e.g., Binance, Bybit). Incorporate circuit breakers, retries, and fallback states to manage API failures and rate limits effectively.
  • Tracking, Events, and Reliability: Instrument key conversion events using PostHog. Guard against regressions with pragmatic testing. Optimize for fast page loads and sensible caching strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work tightly with Product, Design, and Data teams to break down specifications, provide honest technical feedback on risk and cost, and define structured data events for accurate reporting.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience building user-facing web applications, preferably in small product teams or startups.
  • Strong expertise in Vue 3 (Composition API), TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind). (Candidates strong in React + TypeScript willing to quickly transition to Vue 3 are also considered.)
  • Regular use of AI tools, while maintaining ownership and review of shipped code.
  • Solid backend skills, ideally with PHP/Laravel or a similar MVC framework. Experience with REST or GraphQL APIs is required.
  • Proven experience building resilient integrations with third-party APIs.
  • Comfortable working with analytics and monitoring tools (e.g., PostHog, GA4, Sentry).
  • Demonstrated ability to ship fast: capacity to break down work, ship small increments, and iterate quickly.
  • Clear written and spoken English for writing specs, tickets, and PRs.
  • Daytime overlap with South African hours.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience in crypto, trading, or fintech sectors.
  • Familiarity with Inertia.js, Laravel Vapor, or serverless deployment architectures.
  • Experience implementing feature flags or config-driven flows.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Vercel, AWS, or GCP.

How We Work

We operate as a small, sharp team emphasizing low politics and high ownership. We prioritize clean user journeys and measurable business impact over shipping features arbitrarily. We expect team members to treat AI as an extra teammate, focusing on delivering high-quality outcomes quickly and reliably.

Note: We utilize AI tools to support parts of the hiring process (e.g., application review, resume analysis, response assessment). These tools assist our recruitment team but human judgment makes the final hiring decisions.
