LEMP Full Stack Developer (Remote - US States Specific)

Luma is seeking a LEMP Full Stack Developer to join our award-winning team, dedicated to improving lives and society through learning in the trucking industry. This role supports the development of Luma’s proprietary eNugget® Learning Platform.

The ideal candidate must be proficient in working with both legacy, procedural code and modern MVC architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to scope, develop, test, document, and deploy features using a rapid Kanban workflow.
  • Design, implement, and maintain full-stack architecture applications and services.
  • Ensure delivery of modular, testable, and maintainable code across applications and REST APIs.
  • Implement web accessible solutions (WCAG 2+, Section 508).
  • Implement modern security practices (CSP, CSRF, OWASP Top 10).
  • Structure solutions for performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Take full ownership of features from conception through deployment and post-release support.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship for mid-level and junior developers.
  • Contribute to product documentation, SOPs, and knowledge bases.
  • Prioritize multiple projects to meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively with product, design, and support teams to refine user-centric features.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive development lifecycle efficiency.
  • Enhance application usability and performance for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve technical issues promptly to maintain platform stability.
  • Successfully develop, deploy, and integrate project solutions into the customer's environment (the final 15%), ensuring alignment with unique settings and data.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in PHP and JavaScript, adhering to SDLC practices and team coding standards.
  • Experience with front-end and back-end development, including responsive design, RESTful APIs, and third-party service integration.
  • Proficient in MVC architecture and adapting to different variants.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, including cloud services, CI/CD practices, and modern methodologies.
  • Strong problem resolution skills for efficient troubleshooting and system reliability.
  • Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts.
  • User-Centric Mindset regarding user-interface, user-interaction, and user-data.
  • Ability to maintain ownership of issue resolution through full development and implementation.

Job Details & Location

This is a full-time (40-hour week) remote employment position available only in the following states: TX, WI, OH, SC, AL, NC, MT, AZ.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the IT Department.
