Our team is currently making significant investments to improve data structure, increase automation, enhance scalability, and boost software quality. Our primary challenge involves building and maintaining a comprehensive, accurate, accessible, and relevant database of payer policy data.

Our technology stack includes JS/TS, PHP, Python, and Go, utilizing PostgreSQL as the primary data store. Our single page application is built with React. We are primarily full stack developers committed to delivering quality products.

Position Summary: Full Stack Developer III

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer III ready to experiment and find solutions for complex problems. This role requires an individual who embraces challenges, asks questions proactively, and enjoys collaborative teamwork. The ideal candidate is comfortable identifying and raising issues and risks early.

This is a true Full Stack role, requiring a 50/50 split working on Front End and Back End tickets, utilizing PHP and Python.

Role & Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership to the team, including:

  • Conducting code reviews.
  • Providing code guidance and mentorship on software development best practices as needed.
  • Proactively identifying roadblocks, analyzing situations, coordinating troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Ensuring proper follow up for post-incident analysis is completed and implementing necessary process improvements.
  • Contributing front-end and back-end code to projects to achieve project goals.
  • Working towards departmental goals, such as improving the accuracy of technical project estimates, increasing critical test coverage, and enhancing overall code quality.
  • As a project's technical lead, collaborating with teams outside of Engineering to ensure all stakeholders understand project goals, requirements, and realistic timelines.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years building a variety of web applications.
  • Experience working with React, webpack, and other modern web development tool chains.
  • Strong competency with the React framework on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Commitment to writing tests early and valuing decoupled, easily testable code.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to structure applications for long term maintenance and ongoing flexibility.
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong understanding of common web exploits and knowledge on how to prevent them.
  • Experience writing and reading RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with using AI Tools like Cursor AI or Amazon Q/Kiro.
  • Very comfortable with PostgreSQL.
