The Full-Stack Developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains internal software applications across both frontend and backend systems. This role translates business requirements and tickets into functional solutions, collaborating throughout the development lifecycle to deliver reliable, scalable software supporting firm operations.
- Develop, test, and maintain full-stack software solutions using Angular frontends and Symfony/PHP APIs, managing features from requirements to release.
- Critically review requirements and tickets, clarifying scope, assumptions, and identifying edge cases or missing details.
- Design and implement data changes, including Doctrine entities, relationships, migrations, API payloads, services, controllers, and consuming interfaces.
- Work within established application patterns and conventions, extending modules and adapting to codebase evolution.
- Verify functionality by testing features in the application, validating data, and addressing scenarios beyond initial requirements.
- Debug issues across the full request path, including browser behavior, network requests, APIs, application logs, backend services, client-side state, and user interfaces.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit and end-to-end test coverage, collaborating with Quality Assurance for clear acceptance criteria.
- Utilize AI development tools as a primary process component, independently reviewing, validating, and taking accountability for all generated code and recommendations.
- Create clear, reviewable pull requests and participate in code reviews, documenting changes, assumptions, and excluded scope.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing software features from requirements through development, testing, review, and production release.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and PHP, with the ability to evaluate code correctness, including AI-generated code.
- Strong understanding of modern web applications, including HTTP, authentication, permissions, APIs, Object-Relational Mapping (ORM), client-side state management, and frontend/backend system connections.
- Experience with component-based frontend frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue, and comfort working across both frontend and backend application layers.
- Comfort with relational data, including schema interpretation, understanding relationships and foreign keys, and using SQL for application data and ORM queries.
- Working knowledge of Git, command-line tools, Docker development environments, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to issue resolution.
- Self-directed, adaptable, and collaborative, comfortable navigating ambiguity while working with developers, QA, Product, and business stakeholders.
- Comfort with AI development tools, or demonstrated aptitude and interest in integrating them into the development process while understanding their limitations.
- Preferred experience with Angular, NgRx, PrimeNG, Symfony, Doctrine, Vitest, Angular Testing Library, Playwright, PHPUnit, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar technologies. Familiarity with professional services, accounting, or advisory environments is a plus.
