About the Role
Xoto is an early-stage proptech startup building various platforms. We need a hungry, hands-on Full-Stack Developer to take complete ownership of the technical handover from our development vendor, audit every deliverable, and independently run the platform while collaborating with the agency during ongoing development phases.
This is not a managerial role. You will write code, manage servers, review PRs, and be the single technical point of accountability at Xoto. If you thrive wearing multiple hats and want real ownership at a growing startup, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Handover & Code Audit (Immediate Priority)
- Conduct a thorough audit of all code delivered by the development agency — frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure
- Validate deliverables against the signed agreement: source code, DB schemas, migration scripts, API specs, deployment scripts, Git history
- Identify gaps or quality issues and produce a structured findings report for leadership
- Review and sign off on IP transfer and formal handover documentation
- Ensure all environments (dev, staging, production) are correctly set up on AWS
Agency Collaboration & Oversight
- Act as Xoto's technical representative when working alongside the development agency
- Review agency PRs, sprint deliverables, and integration work critically
- Hold the agency accountable to agreed code quality, documentation, and delivery standards
- Make independent technical decisions when agency recommendations need to be challenged
Platform Ownership & Development
- Independently maintain, deploy, and improve the full platform after handover
- Own AWS infrastructure — EC2, S3, RDS; ensure security, uptime, and cost efficiency
- Work across Next.js, React.js, Flutter (frontend) and Laravel/MySQL, Node.js/Express.js (backend)
- Manage third-party integrations: payment gateways (Razorpay/Stripe/PayU), SMS gateway, AI design tools
- Own bug fixes, performance monitoring, and platform stability end-to-end
Startup Hustle
- Translate technical status clearly to non-technical founders
- Evaluate, onboard, and manage freelance developers or contractors as the team grows
- Set up coding standards, branching strategy, and deployment processes from scratch
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of hands-on full-stack development experience
- Frontend: Next.js, React.js, Flutter (PWA & mobile)
- Backend: Laravel (PHP), Node.js / Express.js
- Database: MySQL — schema design, migrations, query optimization
- Cloud: AWS — EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch; able to manage infrastructure independently
- DevOps: Git, CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, deployment scripting
- Solid understanding of REST API design and third-party API integrations
- Comfortable reading and assessing an inherited codebase
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight
